pendent upon the needs of the patient and related family members involved in the patient's therapy.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is the use of guided mediation, progressive relaxation, and therapuetic hypnosis. Dr. Nicole is trained to utilize these specialized techniques for specific anxiety related issues. Patients are individually assessed to determine if their clinical symptoms can be further alleviated by hypnotherapy.
Therapeutic Orientations
Cognitive-behavioral, Gestalt, and Family Systems are the primary psychological theories through which Dr. Nicole develops treatment plans to help patients and families. Cognitive-behavioral theory focuses on correcting and decreasing patients negative and illogical thoughts that create poor choices and actions. Gestalt theory suggest that the whole (For example, a picture) is greater than its parts (the canvas, paint, or brush). Family systems theory is the approach that the connectedness and interaction among family members makes healthy functioning interdependent. In other words, improving the health of the whole family is considered an integral part of increasing a child's functioning.
